Information for presenters

Information for presenters

Full papers, short papers, and industry papers will either be presented via an oral session or via a poster presentation. Please check the final program for your presentation type. Below, you find information about the setup and procedure. If you have any related questions, please send an email to aivr@uci.edu.

Oral presentation

If your paper (full, short, or industry) is listed in an oral session, you are expected to give an oral presentation about your work at the conference. Presentation times are 20 min for full papers (including questions), and 15 min for short and industry papers (including questions).

  • All oral session rooms are equipped with data projectors with a standard VGA connector. We encourage speakers to bring and use their own laptops or other presentation devices. Please check the compatibility of your laptop and the project before the session starts. If you plan to use non-VGA connecting devices, please do bring a VGA adapter to connect to the projector.
  • During the break time before your presentation, please go to the scheduled room to meet the session chair to confirm the title and presenter information of your paper.
  • Time will be strictly enforced by session chairs and all the presenters are expected to make sure that their presentations fit within the time limit and that the switching to another presentation is done during the Q&A.
  • If special equipment is required, please contact the local arrangement chair (Prof. Anthony Y.H. Liao) in advance.
  • Please make sure that presentations would also work if the free wireless connection is limited or not available.

Poster presentation

If your paper (full, short, or industry) is listed in the poster session (Tue, Dec 11, 13:40-16:00), you are expected to present your work via a poster and give a short introduction to it in the preceding “fast
forward session” (13:40-14:00).

  • The poster should be printed and brought to the conference by authors themselves. The maximum size of a poster should be vertical A1 (NOT A0, please take care). The conference will supply pushpins to hang your poster on the board.
  • You can use the preceding lunch break to set up your posters.
  • During the fast forward session, each author can present their work to the attendants in a 1-minute speech (time limit will be strictly enforced). Details about this will be emailed to the authors soon.

Demonstrations

If you have a demonstration accepted, you are expected to show your system during the same session as the posters (Tue, Dec 11, 13:40-16:00) and give a short introduction to it in the preceding “fast forward session” (13:40-14:00) together with the poster presenters.

  • Demos will be provided with a table, power connector, and poster board.
  • If you required a special request to accommodate your demo, pleaseĀ inform us ASAP.
  • You can also show a poster with your demo. See related comments on size, etc. above under “Poster presentation”.
  • You can use the preceding lunch break to set up your posters.
  • During the fast forward session, each author can present their work to the attendants in a 1-minute speech (time limit will be strictly enforced). Details about this will be emailed to the authors soon. Authors who have a poster and accompanying demo should present both in 1 minute.

Workshop presentations

If you have a presentation in one of the workshops, please refer to the workshop pages and contact the workshop organizers for related information on how to present your work at the conference.
